Abstract

The marriage process is a vital issue that is closely linked to people's lives. Therefore, other related matters to this process always need to be reviewed so as to keep pace withthe developments of the eraand adhere with the principals of Sharia.
Building a family is a vital part for any society,therefore the age of marriage needs to be taken into consideration.In this regardit is important to understand the issue of child marriage and its pros and cons in our real life.
The civil status laws in the Islamic countries including Iraq haverestricted the permissible age of marriage.Thus,it is necessary to have an objective look at this matter in the light of Islamic law (Sharia) and Iraqi law.
This research aims to analyze the statement and the jurisprudence of Muslim Scholars in restricting the permission ofchild marriage in order to reach to some appropriate suggestionswhich consider the real social situation in Iraq
