Abstract
The current paper tackles the morphophonemic (a~ا) in Kurdish language-middle dialect, it studies the phonological changes that happened in restricted morphemes that are contributed in building of new words, or the changes that occur in the structure of the word.. The study also investigates the relationship between the phonological and morphological levels when they construct the structure of the words, as well as its interest in the study of morphology. Phoneme has been defined as the smallest unit in terms of phonology, while in terms of morphology it is the smallest unit that has a meaning and contributes to the construction of larger units. The research presents various definitions about the phenomenon under study, and indicates the characteristics of the morphological and phonological level. As well as it shows how a phoneme has a significant correlation in constructing the words. Morphophonemic has been investigated thoroughly in a specific section. Furthermore, the adopted model for analyzing the data is the theory of propagation in phonology, in addition to the use of international model letters (IPA) beside the Kurdish one in order to determine phonological changes that occurred for the phoneme such as [a] in Kurdish language.
