Abstract
The aim of the study to indentification of internet addiction and its relationship to the motivation for achievement among students of college of Arts, University of Kirkuk, to know the differences in Internet addiction among students, according to gender and the time which is used to use internet.The sample of the study consists of (100) students, including (40 ) boy (male) and (60) girls (female) students. For this purpose the researchers apply the internet addiction scale or tools which is prepared by ( Al-Astal, 2011 ) include the scale on (21) items. The scale of motivation of achievement,which is prepared by (Mansour, 1986) includes (35) items, the researchers exposed items to experts to measure face validity there , the researchers measured reliability using spllt half test. for two scales.The valus of reliabillty of internet addiction scale was (0,73) while the value of of reliability of motivation of achievement was (0,68) , then two scales was applied on the sample ,by using a statistical method which was T.tast for one sample, T. test for two independent samples, Pearson correlation coefficient) ,The resarchers arrived the following results:•The level of internet addiction among students was lawer than mean.•There is on significant statistical differences at level of Internet addiction among students according to gender and time of use Internet . •The is significant statistically differences between boy and girl for benrfit on favor girl students and time of use internet for these students that are used less than 5 hours per day .• There is weakness between Internet addiction and motivation of achievement, thes mean if the time of use of Internet increased the level of motivation is decreased . In light of these findings the researchers suggested a number of recommendations and suggestions.
