Abstract
Saudi-British relations have occupied a unique place in the history of international relations of Saudi Arabia since the establishment of the third Saudi state in 1902, but these relations have tended after the end of the Second World War towards the apparent tension due to a number of international and regional changes, especially border issues between Saudi Arabia Britain's role in not solving many problems after the announcement of its military withdrawal from the Arabian Gulf in 1968. This paper discusses the directions of British policy towards closer relations with Saudi Arabia through the documents of the British Foreign Office, and the diplomatic efforts made by the British Embassy in Jeddah in order to promote rapprochement with Saudi Arabia in the political, economic and military fields.
