Abstract
The extraction of oil in Kirkuk, and specifically in the Baba Gurgur has been known since five thousand years BC, and since the earliest times until the year the natural gases have risen to the sky to catch fire, and that oil spills and eternal fire in Baba Guegur and other areas of Kirkuk, enjoy the care of foreign& Arabs travelers, especially in historical ages.The research aims to shed light on the Eternal Fires in historical sources, scenes of travelers and geological expeditions, where they wrote to the importance and special position of the oil wealth and the Eternal fires in the social, political and economic life of the residents of the city and another areas through historical ages.
