Abstract
AbstractThe research aims to determination the role of the media in spreading a culture of community peace, according to the Iraqi public’s vision (research sample) away from the media contents of the means of communication. The research problem was embodied in determination the extent to which media messages contribute to spreading a culture of community peace among the Iraqi public’s, whether by supporting this culture, or ignore it or publish what contradicts.The research is considered a descriptive research and it was based on the method of media surveying the sample in its field area, and the questionnaire form was used as a tool to collect data from the public’s (research sample). It represents the human field of research in the general population of the cities Kirkuk and Baquba, while the spatial area is represented by the governorates of Kirkuk and Diyala, while the temporal area was determined In the period from 1/5/2020 until 1 / 9/ 2020, which is the period of time that achieved the research.The research was divided into three topics:The first topic is devoted to the methodological framework of research and methodological procedures, as well as to previous studies.While the second topic deals with the theoretical framework of the research, it included a definition of the concept of peace as stipulated in legality and social sciences and international conventions. The topic also dealt with a presentation of the concept of the culture of social peace and the most important elements and the role of the media in spreading a culture of social peace.As for the third and final topic, it was devoted to the field side of the research, presentation and interpretation of the results of the field study, as well as the discussion of the most important results which was reached.
