Abstract
Al-Maarri and Al-Khwarizmi have many commonalities, perhaps the most important of which is diving into meanings, as they are both fond of meaning and searching for it. This research is nothing but a serious attempt to search for this common denominator in one of the arts of meanings that the two of them are passionate about, which is the art of (illusion) in which Al-Ma’arri excelled and Al-Khwarizmi realized his compatriots.
Illusion is the link and the bridge to understanding much of Al-Ma'arri's poetry, which led to the creation of an image of his poetry that he deliberately created, until he had a prominent observation so that it would be a starting point for his mysterious meanings. Indeed, the collection of his ideas and impressions is based on illusion.
Al-Khwarizmi combined his view of Al-Ma'arri's poetry with a keen and in-depth critical look through which he explained thepotential of the arts in his poetry, especially illusion. His observations were a mass consistent with Al-Ma'arri's poetry, which was
characterized by delving into poetic meanings. All of this is evident in this research, which represents a step towards a conscious interpretation of Al-Ma’arri’s poetry through a conscious interpreter of its meanings. My approach to it was to collect and classify according to the types of illusions and to find out the meanings of the delusional words.
