Abstract
Looking at the old periods of Turkish history, Turkish tribes migrated to different regions and countries due to the war that occurred, which caused the language to change. Turkey Turkish, which is in the Oghuz (Southwestern) group of Turkish, has undoubtedly undergone changes in terms of sound and shape throughout the centuries during the historical development of the language. The most obvious features of these are the thickness-thinness, flatness-roundness events, and how much the differences in usage and writing have changed over time are clearly and explicitly seen in works and especially in poems.
We evaluated this study under three headings: First, we examined the article called compound verb in the novel “Suskunlar” by İhsan Oktay Anar, one of the most prominent Turkish novelists and who has a special place in the literary world. Secondly, we examined the study called compound verbs on the “Dîvân-ı Mesâbîh”, which was handled by Kuloğlu Şeyh Hacı İlyas, about whom not much information is available but who is thought to have lived during the reign of Sultan Murad IV, during the Classical Ottoman Turkish period. Third, we reviewed the language features and examined the compound verbs in the work called “Kıssa Kitabı”, which is thought to have been written in the Old Anatolian Turkish period, with its subheadings, sample words and sentences.
