Abstract
This research explores “Perception to the Senses in the Kurdish Language: the Sense five Semantic Fields of the Word as a Model ". This under-researched area contributes to both general linguistic knowledge and the field of Kurdish language studies. The research is divided into three sections. The first section provides an introduction to cognitive linguistics, illustrating key concepts with examples. The second section focuses on the concept of perception, contrasting its role with that of cognitive linguistics through concrete examples. Finally, the third section investigates sensory linguistics, analyzing how sensations are expressed within Kurdish, and then develops a model for a sensory semantic field. The study concludes with an examination of the sources that informed the research. A central finding of this research is that each word in Kurdish possesses its unique semantic field, which shares commonalities and differences with other word fields. Furthermore, our investigation indicates that prefixes and suffixes play a significant role in adding specific sensory meanings to words.
