Abstract
The research aims to highlight the role of time and temporal factors in geographical scientific studies, examining the extent of their integration as a variable or determinant in the study of geographical phenomena, both natural and human. It explores the units of time, their segmentation, and the degree of their overlap and integration with each other or with geographical phenomena. Additionally, it assesses the awareness of geographers regarding this critical factor and the extent of its application or utilization in their studies. The research methodology adopted an objective approach that examines the components of phenomena to establish a systematic framework for addressing the concept of time and temporal dimensions within the branches of geography. Additionally, the content analysis method was employed to extract and identify the presence of time
The key findings indicate a lack of clarity regarding the concept and representations of time among geographical researchers, or an underestimation of its importance in natural and human studies. The research underscores the necessity of incorporating time as a primary variable in geographical analyses to avoid incomplete interpretations.
In conclusion, time is fundamental to achieving a deeper and more accurate understanding of geographical phenomena, thereby enhancing decision-making in environmental and urban planning. The study also emphasizes the importance of integrating temporal and spatial dimensions in future research to achieve better sustainability of resources and environments. One of the most important recommendations of the research is to delve deeper into the study of time and its various representations in geographical studies.
