Abstract
The Stresa Pact was an agreement signed on April 14, 1935, between three major European countries: Italy, France, and Britain. The agreement took place in the Italian city of Stresa, and was intended to confront the threats posed by the Nazi expansionist policy in Germany led by Adolf Hitler. The agreement was reached after Germany began to violate the Treaty of Versailles, which had imposed strict restrictions on its rearmament after World War I. Nazi moves, such as German rearmament in 1935, were a direct threat to European security, and the three countries wanted to prevent the escalation of tensions that could lead to another conflict.
