Abstract

This research is in the field of psycholinguistics, an attempt to explain and interpret the main theoretical areas of both languages processing in lexicon, Language processing is more complex in mental lexicon of bilingual than in monolingual, Methods of storing, organizing, retrieving and accessing lexical representations of both languages and their use in psycho-linguistic processes is different. in bilingual mental lexicon stored words from both languages ​​and their related information, The distinction between the lexicon representations of the two languages ​​is not absolute, there can be interact between the lexical representations of both languages therefore, this study attempts to explain how two languages ​​are represented in bilingual lexical based on the theories and models of bilingual mental lexicon, to gain a better understanding of the nature and how bilingual mental lexicon works in the processing of both languages, also the quality and quantity of first language mediation in second language processing is explained based on the level of bilingual knowledge and skills in the second language, speakers who are in the early stages of second language learning rely on first language information to fill linguistic gaps in second language processing. Bilinguals increase their skills by experiencing more of the second language and transcend based on first language information, performs linguistic processes based on second language information and data.
