Abstract
Sultan Muzafereddin Gokboru is a very important leader who has not been sufficiently researched. Although Gokboru is referred to with many titles such as king, sultan, padishah, prince in written sources, it is thought that his contributions to the Erbil Region have not been sufficiently examined due to misconception, ignorance or at best, lack of appreciation. This study touches on Gokboru's life, identity and contributions to the region. During the administration of his emirate, Gokboru did not give way to control of passions, on the contrary, he was extremely alert and careful about what was happening in the public and secret areas. He was able to intervene in emergencies in a prepared manner, and in addition, he was prepared for everything that was expected of him during the days when he entered the Atabey administration and when their administration expanded. He always used the power of his army for the benefit of the Atabeys and to eliminate the sovereignty of his neighbors. The leadership style he implemented was extremely great, because this connection was clearly seen in public policies and always attracted attention during the Atabey period.
