Abstract

The newspaper Rygai Kurdistan, which served as the mouthpiece of the Kurdistan Communist Party, was one of the most active newspapers following the 1991 uprising. As an ideologically driven publication with a Marxist perspective, it devoted significant attention to class struggle and union activism in southern Kurdistan.
This study employs a descriptive analytical approach to highlight the importance of this newspaper in this context. Through research and analysis, the study has reached several conclusions, the most notable being that the newspaper, both in its historical coverage and journalistic activities, placed great emphasis on issues of class struggle and union movements in southern Kurdistan. These topics are considered crucial historical tools for narrating aspects of the historical reality of certain class struggles, particularly in the Erbil region.
