Abstract

Abstract
The current research aims at constructing an educational program for changing the locus of control from external (outer) to internal (inner) at the students of the preparatory stage in Ninevah City during the academic year 2003/2004. According to the aims of the research the number of studies sample was (38) males and (34) females. The style of random evenly distribution has been used by the researchers and distributed the individuals randomly on two groups (control & experimental). The program has been consisted of three factors. The first, the behavioural situations. Second, the questions and discussions that are evaluated to the impact of the program that enables the researchers to figure a primary form about the extent of the students interaction and their acceptance to it. The program has contained (14) sittings that have been presented to a panel of experts who are specialized in education and psychology. Most of the experts have agreed to its familiarity for gaining its purpose after operational modulations that are suggested by them. Then the program has been applied to the individuals of the experimental group during the first academic year 2003/2004. After finishing the carrying out of the educational program the researchers has applied the locus of control scale for investigating the research hypotheses.
Furthermore the researchers has used the t-test and difference analysis besides Sheffe method to get the results that have been shown the activity of the educational program in this research for gaining the change of locus of control from outer to inner at the individuals of the experimental group. Moreover the sex variable (males/females) and the branch of study variable (literal / scientific) and the level of achievement in terms of the current research have no role in impact difference that the program have made to the variable of the locus of control at the individuals of the experimental group.
Finally the researchers has suggest doing studies for investigating the impact of the educational program (that has been presented in the current study) in changing the locus of control from outer to inner at the students in other stages of study and its impact on irrational ideas (thoughts) and magic thinking and cognitive traits on the students.
