Abstract

Abstract

There is no doubt that Language froms had formed randomly , without any prior in tention . Yet , there are some which are formed in tentionally. And because Kurdish is one of the agglutinative languages , most of its sentences are formed from different morphemes . when we continue cutting words in to yet smaller morphemes, we will find that there is a limit to this cutting or division . This act of division usually Leads us to some Fruitful conclusions , Like Finding out relations or similarities between the dialects of the same language . And in the course of time , the division of words will show us how flourished the Language is .

The current paper , entitled "Analysis of the word 'Heelaana' in the Kurdish language" studies and analyses the word 'Heelaan' from two perspectives:lexicographically and morphologically0Regarding the former side , Kurd writers and researchers have analyzed the word thoroughly. While no morphological analysis has been carried out.

Throughout this study , we arrived at the point that the word 'Heelaana' is composed of : hee + laa +na . And to analyse this word and verify our viewpoint , we resorted to other words to study their divisions and analyses . It is worthmentioning here that Language meets the needs of the society , as it is ameans to an end . Hence, there are relations among words ; and on the basis of this , we analysed many wards morphologically , and regarding the word under discussion we can say that the word 'Heelaana' is composed of 'hee' meaning 'egg' ; 'Laan' meaning 'place' , i.e., aplace of laying egg . so , when the two morphemes ' hee ' and ' lan ' are put to gether , means 'anest' ; and the morpheme 'a' is a suffix in Kurdish meanin gmorphological Languag Role . So , the ward ' heelaana ' means ' aplace for laying eggs' ; and since the place is circular , it has given the word its circular in dication . Through this study , we arrived at the fact that the word ( heelaana – nest ; egg – heelka – hek , heg , he , helk ) all have the same reference , though differently pronounced or formed in different Kurdish dialects. Added to that , the English word ' egg ' is similar to its Kurdish counterpart . This is mainly because both languages belong to one and the same language family , I e , Indo – European .
