Abstract

Abstract

Howlers In al – Jahihiya Poetry

This paper’s aims to pinpoint a type of honourary poems which has been call her (howler) poem. This type has not yet been studied lexically thematically. That is why this paper presents a study of the concept of ‘howlers’ linguistically and idiomatically. The researcher could limit the nature of this poem that depends on three elements which constitute its main structure. These elements used by the poet to complete the pictures that he has drawn. Moreover, the researcher has studied the ideological and social implications of these factors besides showing that this poem may start with a lyric beginning then it moves to the next scene by an utterance and a (howler). The poet may get rid of the lyric beginning and starts with the wore (and a howler) and this is the dominating structure in the framework of this study.
