Abstract
The process of teaching , in all its stages , has become demanding specific skills in order to conduct the rapid developments which the world witnesses in its third millenary in all fields , among them the educational field. The educational trend relied on competence bases is regarded as the most prominent common in training and preparing the teaching staff in countries which are developed in teaching and educating. This emphasizes the teaching performance acceding educational level inside and outside the classroom by adopting the most modern teaching and learning theories.
The research necessitates to include three chapters. The first deals with the definition by semantic and growth, it consists of two approaches, the first reveals the definition and denotation of the concept of competences. The researcher has tried to deduct some foreign definition and then to acquaint the definitions in Arabic references , the researcher has concluded that the competences ( professional and teaching ) include many aspects among them features , characteristics , specifications , skills knowledge, and tendencies that are supposed to reflect on the teachers performance in educational situation which is characterized by some kind of stability in practicing . While the second approach includes the growth of depending on competence, the researcher has tried to record the history of this movement depending on some Arabic and foreign reference. The second chapter includes the required competences that must be available in teacher (general competence, specified competence, professional educational competences, social and cultural competences, and personal professional developing competences) then the researcher conducts the features of this movement. The third chapter includes the basic principles in the evaluation of teacher's competence.
