Abstract

The poem under discussion belongs to a modern poet who has few works and who has not reached fame yet. He lived and studied in Iraq and finished his BA. Degree from Baghdad University. Then he migrated to Arab western states. He work his poem “Layla and I” or “ Layla and I and Erase your names” in which he depicts his special world and feelings .The poem is a mixture of sadness and pain . Some poets claimed the poem but their claims were null and void. Thus, we want to admit that a text has a right to say its opinion before others say theirs. The poet Dr. Abdurrahman al-Juboori has written a similar poem titled ( Layla’s voice), then the poet Mr. Nawfal Hamad has added a third one titled (Layla and you “. The important thing here is that the poem has achieved a wide-spread success. In this text, an ability to offer has been discovered; therefore,it has survived although the poem was written thirty years ago. To analyze this text, the structural approach is adopted. Thus, the following levels of analysis can be seen. the semantic lexical level,the musical level and the structural level. Whether the study is based on the linguistic or some thing else ,the characteristics of the form are fixed and unchangeable. That is why they must be comprehensive, compatible and harmonizable .
