Abstract

In our life , we learn how to communicate with each other using different skills such as speaking , reading , writing and listening . The first three skills are focused on in educational curricula extensively unlike listening skill that has not received due attention ; therefore the current paper tackles the role listening skill in Education
Educationalists believe that a good listening leads to comprehension and achieves linguistic communication between speakers and hearers .
They also believe that listening is reading with the ear and that improving this skill is essential for the teacher because it helps him / her to convey knowledge and to discipline the class .
Accordingly , it is very important to shed light on this issue to clarify its value in the learning process .
The paper in hand is divided in to two chapters .
Each chapter is subdivided in to five sections . Each section deals with different topics related to the skill of listening . It is hope that this paper will be a good guide for explring this skill
