Abstract

Inspire of the society development , the phenomenon of violence against the woman still carries the features of some societies and destroys its development since it threatens the achievements which were done by the man dueling the last years when the violence obviously increased In1996 the International Health Organization declared that violence against woman is regarded as a serious universal problem which made the General secretary of the united Nations Mr. (Ban,kee,mon) send a message to the world in which he asked to unify the efforts to remove the violence against the woman but the increase of the number of this phenomenon's victims in the world in general and in Arab countries in particular for example ,in Tunisia there is 33% victims and 54% victims in Palestine ,while in Iraq, Dr. Catharine Michael in her booklet entitled as (woman's situation in Iraq) has declared that this phenomenon has increased obviously especially that its victim influences her children badly In order to recognize the social and psychological reasons behind the violence against the woman and to the benefit of the specialists and experts in the field of human Rights put apian to protect the woman from this violence so the researcher has put this matter as an aim of his research and has put the following hypothesis in order to achieve this aim (There is no differences between man and woman in determining the social and psychological reasons of the violence against the woman)To achieve this aim , the researcher has used close question naira to be applied to the research sample which contains (500)man and woman (250)man (250)woman After processing the data by using the source , the researcher has concluded;
1-there is no differences between the answers of the tow samples (women and men)in determining the reasons.
2-The items (man's objection to woman's visits to her parent's ) (man's nervousness and his inability to control his emotions ) and (the absence of love between the couple ) have occupied the first three levels among the women's sample.
3-The items (poverty, living difficulty and the big number of children) ,(wife,sgassip and her provocative question and wife's problems with her husband's family and her neighbors) have occupied the first three places among the men's sample According to these results the mentioned many recommendations and suggestions for further studies
