ABSTRACT

Letters are considered an important prosal literary art; but they did not receive ample care by researchers and critics in spite of their literary and historical significance. Besides, they are characterized with a fascinating style and they involve rhetoric treasures. These reasons have stimulated me to tackle this topic according to the stylistic method.

The study is divided into a prelude and four concise sections. The prelude is dedicated to show the biography of 'al-Khadhi al-fadhil' and the concept of stylistics as well as a short introduction to the letter. The first section deals with the rhythmic aspect; the second with the semantic aspect; the third with the structural aspect and the forth with the rhetoric aspect. The study ends with the main conclusions arrived at in the research.
