The aim of this research is to find habits of mind for junior students of high school science branch on one hand, and the existence of the relationship between habits of minds and the achievement in chemistry for each grade level on the other hand. The researcher for this study prepared the research tool. The identification of mental private habits was applied on (137) student. Students were selected from 4th, 5th and 6th year high school. After processing of the statistically data, the results showed the prevalence of certain mental habits for high school students as well as having significant difference due to the presence of good mental habits for high school student in comparison with average hypothesis to measure mental habits. The absence of statistical difference between the grades (4th, 5th and 6th) in an average for student's response on the scale of mental habits. As well as the existence of a strong relationship between smart behaviors for students (habits of mind) in answering achievement test in chemistry. In conclusion the mental habits are present in the student's behavior but their response are dissimilar and can be stimulated when they are exposed to new attitudes and tests that develops those mental habits. The recommendations are for teachers to reconsider the nature of their achievement test and try to improve it.
