Abstract

Baghdad has been famous for its ancient and integrated civilization in all aspects of cultural, scientific and urban life, just like the Islamic cities that have become capitals of countries,. It is famous for its architectural distinction of markets and residential homes, as the people of Baghdad worked to provide all the necessities of a comfortable life in their homes, especially the means of cooling used at that time and what is related to it, and ice is a priority for that,. This is because the city of Baghdad is characterized by a scorching atmosphere in the summer, as ice played a distinct role in their daily lives and they used it to cool water and drinks, and preserve food and fruits from spoilage, and in medicine as well, which made it a source of abundant profit through trading in it, so studying the profession of the refrigerator, which is famous in the Abbasid era, is one of the important studies that has not received a great deal of attention from researchers and writers, and it isa clear economic impact on those who worked in it. Despite the fact that this profession carried within it a character of difficulty and hardship in order to reach the desired results from this profession for those who worked in it, and how they moved in the different seasons of the year and from one place to another in order to obtain Snow has become a source of livelihood for them
